Honors Math II
03/13 - Today we began with our IQ question. Afterwards, we went over problems that would be on the quiz and then I answered questions they had about the quiz. They took the quiz and had a review assignment for homework 4-5.
03/14 - Today we began with our IQ problem and a graphing quadratic inequality warmup. We went over the homework and then began our lesson on radical equations. We discussed translations and all other transformations. We discussed increasing, decreasing, domain, range, etc... We went over many examples and then they began their homework.
03/15 - Today we reviewd radical equations. We finished up with cube root equations. I answered lingering questions they had and then we moved on to reciprocal equations. We discussed how they are very similar to the others we have been dealing with in the procedure, but very different in look. We went over how to graph, find asymptotes, domain, range, increasing, decreasing, and end behavior. After some time they completed some problems on their own and then we left off with them going home to work on 4-7 homework.
03/16 - Today was a talking day reviewing the material for the test on Friday. Students led discussion on problems of every type from this unit. I jumped in to correct mistakes and offer advice, but mostly they led the way. They then received their review to work on for homework.
03/17 - Today we took the Unit 4 Exam.
Academic Math II
03/13 - Today we began with our IQ warmup. Afterwards we went right into graphing systems of linear and quadratic equations. We went over many examples and students walked us through some. Afterwards we moved into inequalities and finding the intersections of shading. Similarly we went through many examples and had students walk us through and then they began homework.
03/14 - Today we began with our IQ question. Afterwards, we went over problems that would be on the quiz and then I answered questions they had about the quiz. They took the quiz and had a review assignment for homework 4-5.
03/15 - Today we began with our IQ problem. Afterwards we went over our lesson on radical equations and how to graph them. Today we only really got through square roots. We went over how to graph and how to find all necessary information (domain, range, increasing, decreasing, vertex, tranformations, end behavior.) We will finish it tomorrow.
03/16 - Today we finished with cube roots and all of their properties. Afterwards we went into reciprocal functions. Similarly we graphed them a lot and then talked about translations. We discussed how these don't have a vertex, but do have asymptotes. We then went through domain, range, end behavior, increasing, and decreasing. They received a review assignment for the test tomorrow.
