03/27 - Today we talked about the quizzes after a kahoot warmup. We discussed the problems on it and how they can do better on them come test time. Afterwards we went into more examples of angle of elevation and depression. We went over multiple exmples and they had to solve them and come up with the answer as well as the diagram. Tomorrow they will create their own examples of angle of elevation and depression and work through them.
03/28 - Today we warmed up on an angle of elevation / depression problem. We went through some examples and built up a deeper understanding before I gave them their group project to work on. They were put in their table groupings and asked to create an angle of elevation or depression question based on their random noun I gave them. They had to come up with the problem as well as draw a well done and thorough diagram of the situation. They then need to create an answer key for it and make sure it is correct. Tomorrow they will be working through other people's problems.
03/29 - Today we warmed up by grabbing our student made problems and combining them with the diagrams. They turned in their answer keys to me and then set their problem and diagram on their table. After that, they gathered in their groups and went to the next group's problem. They worked through each other group's problems and compared to the answer key. If they found errors they would correct the errors. In the end they are going to complete the problems they do not finish for homework tonight. We will review tomorrow and test on Friday.
03/30 - Today we went through a talking day review and afterwards went through and answered questions concerning some problems.
03/31 - Today was the Unit 5 Exam.
Academic Math II
03/27 - Today we talked about the quiz at first. I was very disappointed in the quiz grades as nearly every student expressed the opinion that it was an easy topic, but their grades did not reflect this. We discussed how they can improve and get a better grade in the future. Afterwards we went through some angle of elevation and depression problems and I helped them make diagrams and solve. They will practice these tonight and we will continue them tomorrow.
03/28 - Today we warmed up on an angle of elevation / depression problem. We focused mainly on getting the diagram and picture drawn. Afterwards, we went through some notes on waht angle of elevation and depression was and how to do it. We spent some time on understanding it at a deeper level and then went over examples of each type. We built up from being given the diagram, then just a part of the diagram, to making the diagram ourselves. Tomorrow will be our last lesson on angle of elevation and depression and then we will review on Thursday and test on Friday.
03/29 - Today we began with a review question finding all missing parts of a triangle. This used pythagorean theorem, trigonometry, and the angle sum of a triangle. Afterwards we worked through a bunch of examples of word problems and angle of elevation and depression. I would give them a problem and ask them to sketch the diagram and solve it. Afterwards we would go over it and I would have a student walk us through how they solved the problem. Tomorrow we will review and Friday we will test.
03/30 - Today the class went out in the hall and completed a review activity. They worked in groups and asked me questions to make sure they were ready for the exam.
03/31 - Today was the Unit 5 Exam.
