Today in Academic Math II we went through some more graphing of quadratic equation problems. They warmed up on one and then we went over one slowly. I then added in the last components to these problems which included domain and range, end behavior, and increasing/decreasing intervals. We practiced those for some time and then we went through these problems as if they were written in vertex form. Overall this was to finish up the graphing component and close the book on this topic basically. We will have a quiz tomorrow. Here are the notes:
PD1 /4 PD1/4 pt 2
Today in Honors Math II we went through a warmup on graphing a quadratic again and went through every step. After that we talked about converting between forms. They practiced it and we discussed in detail the vertex form and how it works. After some practice with it we went on to a computer based activity where they were given points and had to find out what equation gives them a parabola through those points. This will be graded as a small quiz grade for accuracy. We finished off with some talk about the calculator and how to solve the applications of these problems.
