Honors Math III
10/11
After an extra day off due to the hurricane, we began with movie trivia. Afterwards we went over the imaginary and irrational root theorem and began creating polynomials based on their roots. This involved a lot of practice problems and different examples
10/12
Today we went through multiplying polynomials. This began with using the box method of multiplication and simplifying. They have done problems like this before, but we expanded this into some real life example problems. After these problems we learned pascal's triangle and used it to take binomials to a power. We will discuss this again for a bit tomorrow.
10/13
Today we began with a warmup on pascal's triangle. We finished up our lesson on it and moved onto long division on polynomials. We began with general long division and then moved on to apply the same techniques to polynomials. We discussed the reasons to use it as well as a new method we will go over tomorrow.
10/14
4th period did not have class but in 2nd block we began with a review of dividing rational expressions. We moved on to synthetic division. We then went through examples of each and when you would use them. We will review this on Monday along with a new lesson to review on Tuesday and test on Wednesday.
Academic Math III
10/11
We began with movie trivia warmup and then grabbed the whiteboards to practice. We used the whiteboards to practice graphing polynomials with roots and multiplicity all class. We are preparing for the quiz tomorrow.
10/12
We began with one last warmup problem on graphing using roots and multiplicity. Afterwards they were given the quizzes to work on. Once finished I separated them into two groups. Those who have not finished test corrections went to the hall to work on them. Those who finished were taught the next lesson. Tomorrow we will take a retest on the previous unit and finish up the lesson.
10/13
We began with the retest. Once complete we moved on to imaginary and irrational root theorem. This is just an extension of what we have been doing and we completed many examples on this together as a class.
10/14
We began with a review of imaginary and irrational root theorem. We then moved on to multiplying polynomials using the box method. We spend a lot of time practicing these before moving on to pascal's triangle.
