Today in academic math II we began with a kahoot on the quadratic formula as well as discriminant. We talked about it and then moved on to our new process of completing the square. We slowly built into why it works and how to do it and then dove into some problems. After a few examples I gave them one to do and then we went over it. Their homework will be 2-4 and the notes can be found here.
Today in Honors Math III we began with a kahoot reviewing the quadratic formula. We practiced it and talked about what the discriminant meant. We then moved on to the process of completing the square. We began with a visual depiction of an actual square and how to make one when it isn't full. We moved on to an example by reversing the box method of multiplication and then I showed them the repeated algorithm. We practiced it many times and then I told them we would continue on Monday. The notes can be found here.
