In academic I passed out the notes/hw packet and they went through the first day with me. It was on monomial and exponent properties. We went through each example and then moved on to challenge problems. There was no homework tonight, but I did give them a worksheet to complete by Thursday in class and we will have a quiz on these rules on Thursday.
In Honors we discussed the day with the sub and I told them they would be getting their tests back and apologized for not getting them in yet. Many of them stayed after to see their grade. Once class began we started with an IQ warmup. I am having them complete logic problems every day for the next 20 days. This is a fake IQ test and will consist of the types of questions that could be found on an IQ test. They must organize this and keep it together for the 20 days. I will not be posting these questions and will expect them to get anything they miss or lose from a classmate. We then moved on to talking about variation. I went through the notes they took with the sub and explained it all. After that we did some radical equations problems and I explained my method.
