Today in Honors Math II we finished our notes on graphing reciprocal functions. We finished by talking not only about the asymptotes and basic graphs, but the domain, range, end behavior and increasing/decreasing intervals.
Here are the notes. Also, here are the variation notes for anyone looking to figure that out. In Math I we took our Module 7b factoring test.

Here is the review key for the Math I factoring test. I have completed all work and hope that this will help.
If you open this up on a phone you will not be able to see the filled in answers. It must be on a computer. Review review key Here are the notes for graphing reciprocal functions from Friday in Math II: Notes Sorry for no blog yesterday.
In Honors Math II we completed the graphing radical equations notes. Before that we finished the solving radical equations notes. Here are the solving equations notes Here are the graphing notes In Math I we finished our graphing notes. Thursday was a review of all factoring types and we will review again tomorrow and test on Monday. Here are the notes Early release and late start has been a weird beginning to my return.
In Math II we worked on finishing up solving radical equations. 1st block finished, but 2nd block did not. They should complete 4-4 for homework. We will have a quiz on Thursday on the first few days of this unit. Here are the notes. Here is the hw We didn't really have class on Monday in Math I, but on Tuesday we talked about factoring quadratics (ax^2 + bx + c) where a = 1. I taught them the shortcut and we went through some examples. After that we branched into factoring where a is not 1. This process is a little more complex and we went through some examples but did not finish. We will finish this up tomorrow and they will practice some examples. Then we will finish up with a review on Thursday and the test on Friday. Here are the notes. In Honors Math II the past two days we have finished up our lessons on completing the square and reviewing for the exam.
Here is our lesson Here is the review Key Homework Key In Math I we finished up our final lesson on special cases of substitution and elimination as well as reviewing for the exam. I do not have a digital key to the review, but students can come see me in the morning to see it and check their answers. Special cases lesson Sorry no blog yesterday.
In Honors Math II the last two days we reviewed quadratic formula, took a quiz, and then learned completing the square. We will finish up completing the square tomorrow. They had to complete 2.5 for homework tonight. Notes In Math I we reviewed and took a quiz on Monday. It took a lot of review to catch them back up, but we eventually got there. Today we worked on 5.8 in the workbook which was word problems with elimination. We went through them all and discussed different approaches. Their homework was a worksheet that I do not have a digital copy of. Here is the module 5.8 Today in Honors Math II, we continued on in our lessons. Today we learned about the quadratic formula. I told them what it was as well as giving them advice on how to memorize. There are multiple songs that can be found through google and youtube as well as the traditional methods of memorization. The homework is 2-3
Here are the notes. In Math I we went through more practice problems on elimination and went into more complex examples. They worked through word problems as well as simple problems. We will have quiz on substitution and elimination on Monday. Here is the handout we worked through today. Today in Honors Math II we continued our new unit. I went over the homework and then introduced complex numbers. We talked about where they come from and how to simplify them. We added them, subtracted them, and multiplied them. We practiced it a lot and talked about the conceptual understanding of it. Here are the notes. The homework is 2-2.
In Math I we quizzed on graphing inequalities and finding inequalities from word problems. Afterwards we began out next section on elimination. We started by discovering the process with word problems and common sense. After some time we built it into a method that could be executed every time and discussed when to do this versus substitution. They need to complete the back side of their handout for homework for tomorrow. Handout. First two word problems from classwork. Today in Honors Math II we began our new unit and went over the exam. They received this homework packet. We began by learning about simplifying radicals and the number system. We differentiated among all number types and described numbers by all types they fell under. This lead us into imaginary numbers. We discussed what they were as well as simplifying them. They must complete the 2-1 hw for tomorrow as well as the placemat that they received yesterday.
Here are the notes. In Math I we finished talking about 5.6 and then began learning substitution. They were given a sheet and worked individually as well as in groups to solve simple as well as word problems. We discussed it as a class and multiple groups shared their responses and logic. They must complete the worksheet as well as RSG 9-14 for homework tomorrow. We will have a quiz tomorrow. Here is the handout they received today. |
